The best time to stretch or do yoga is in the morning. Why?
For a few reasons: Many people wake up stiff and tired. Using yoga or some light stretching first thing in the morning will help you cure this. I am going to suggest 3 light stretches that I think help the most and why:
1. A spinal twist. A spinal twist can be done while in your bed before you get up. With both arms outstretched like wings, send one or both knees in one direction across your body and turn your head in the other, then do the other side. This is a great stretch for the sides of your body, your neck and most especially, your thoracic spine. After you’ve been sleeping (maybe even favoring one side of your body over the other) the best way to balance it out is with a spinal twist.
